Memory can be a funny thing. The things that one remembers. The things that one forgets, and the things that one wishes they could forget. After her brief bout with consciousness in the med bay. Rook struggled to remember what happened to her. She hurt. Every ounce of her body hurt. Her mind in a fog. Slowly a memory of the USS Warrior came to her It was the last thing she could remember thanks to her data-port that was implanted into her. Augmentation contained a memory storage which recorded her memories. It was a useful tool to Rook in her life. Allowed her be able to actually recall any information that she had experienced. The memory of the bridge was the last thing she could recall. Her memory flooding into her mind as the memory storage worked to restore her. She was standing on the bridge of the USS Warrior, at her station... wait that is wrong... she was on the floor, behind her station seeing Ensign Servo running over to her... As soon as that moment hit her she when into shock. That last memory she had cascaded into her mind. The memory hurt... After being sedated with the hypo-spray Rook was trapped. Trapped in her last memory. She watched helplessly as the memory played out before her...

Unknown to Rook, the last memory she had was of a day that would be recorded in Federation History as 'The Battle of Quantico'. Where countless lives were lost... and thousands of lives were saved...

Stardate: 240510.01

The lights on the bridge were dim. The red lights running along the ceiling of the bridge were flashing. The sound of the alert blaring at Rook. She looked down at her console’s display. The tactical display showed the massive force of Klingon ships staying on the edge of the system and the locations of all the USS Warrior’s fighters. On the corner of the display displayed the Star Date. 240510.01. The sound of the doors opening to her left caused her to look over to see Commodore Enor walk onto the bridge and Lt Commander Johnson getting up to let the Commodore has his seat. “We are almost ready launch the unmanned fighters sir, The Klingon have cause some damage but seem to be withholding their main forces.”

The Commodore looked over at Ensign Bourgeois “Ensign Bourgeois, please send a message to the rest of the Fleet. Form an arc around the evacuation ships, all destroyer class ships take forward, fighters take the front. All Cruiser and Command ships remains in the rear with all ships conducting evacuations at the center.” Enor’s voice was stern and serious. Rook could feel a feel and tension from him that she has never seen before.

The young ensign plugged away at the console. “Aye sir”.

Commodore Enor, turned his chair to face Lt Myers-Korialis. “Tactical, analyze the current formation of the Klingon fleet, and their attacks. Specifically the concentration, they may have found a weakness.” He spun back to face the screen which was currently displaying a tactical view of the system.

Lt Myers-Korialis nodded “Already on it!” Rook could hear the sound of the Lt’s fingers dancing over the tactical console.

Lt Commander Johnson now finally sitting his him normal chair. “Warrior to Fighters, stay close for now we will be launching the Drones soon. When we do protect them till they reach their targets.” Rook looked at the Bridge’s main screen and watch in shock feeling helpless watching Quantico being ravaged as several Klingon detachments broke though the lines. Rook’s console flashed a message showing that Klingon raiding parties have beamed down to the planet.

Commodore Enor tapped on his com badge “Fighter bay, good work Lieutenant...keep us informed of your progress.”

Lt Commander Johnson, looked over at at Enor. “Sir, as far as my scans got while you were away, I was able to determine that the Klingons were concentrating on the ships with the 'green' command teams.”

Enor nodded to Johnson. “The movements of those ships is obvious, bring us into line with them to reinforce that section of the formation.”

Rook pulled the Op’s ear piece out of the console and shoved it into her ear to let her listen in on the fighter coms due to noise of the red alert siren. As she did she heard Ensign Bourgeois turn to her, “Commander, I'm not feeling so well request to be relieved of duty.” Then the ensign leaned over on console.

Rook placed one hand over the ear piece to hear as she pointed with her other hand at the ensign. “Denied Ensign, stay our post!”

Enor looked back at the Ensign, “Ensign Bourgeois, keep the Fleet informed. I want the USS Mayhem to join us in reinforcing the green section of our lines. Please inform them.” Ensign Bourgeois stood back up and hailed the USS Mayhem relaying the Commodore’s order. “Helm take us to the side of the USS Staunton.” Enor barked at Lt Jg Rodgers.

Rook was barely aware of Rodgers complying with the order keeping the Warrior even with the USS Mayhem as she was fixated on her console. Her heart pounded as she watched the mainstay of the Klingon force push forward in a full scale movement headed straight into the lines. Rook knew that this evacuation is about to become nothing but a blood bath. To Rook’s left she heard Ensign Servo say “the Klingons are on the move.” As he raised his hand.

Johnson looked over at Ensign Bourgeois, nodding and going over. “Your relieved ensign.” Then the Lt Commander took over the post and transferred his tactical readout over as well. Rook looked over thinking to herself. ‘We need every hand on deck!’ Before Rook could voice her thoughts to the XO, Johnson yelled at Enor. “Sir the Klingons are headed right for the lines at full strength, we need to speed up Evac!”

The sound of Captain Savage from the Mayhem com over the bridge com’s. “Aye Warrior, tell Enor we need to get our asses out of here soon, the Klingons don't look to friendly anymore!”

Enor nodded at Johnson. “Get our people back now.” Enor’s voice carried a tone of confidence but Rook could tell the Commodore was worried that the evacuation teams weren’t going to make it back. “Okay, Support the other ships...Target the nearest Klingon...when they get in range give them hell.”

Lt Commander Johnson hit the ships comms “Warrior to all teams prepare for beam out the Klingons just unleashed their full complement we won't last long!” Seeing Ensign Servo handling tactical Johnson moved back to the XO chair.

Rook looked up at Enor. “Sir, we should coordinate our fire with the other ships. Everyone hit the same ship. That way we can take them out faster.”

Enor leaned on the arm of his chair. “Tell those kids to keep by us. We'll take lead here.” He spun around to look at Rook their eyes meeting. “Agreed,” He turned to look at Ensign Servo at tactical. “Tactical, can you send your targeting info to the other ships?”

A flashing red light triggered on her console to report that the several of the Star Fleet vessel’s Tri-Cobalt armed fighters are read for launch. Rook pushed the comm push to talk key. “Warrior to all fighters!” She took a breath. “We are sending targeting data, Fire on the target listed!”

Johnson now sitting in his usual seat next to Enor looks at Enor. “Commodore several ships in the fleet are reporting their 'bombs' ready for launch.” He paused for a second as if listening to someone talk but all Rook could hear was the sound of all the fighters acknowledging her orders. Johnson tapped his badge. “Good Work Lieutenant” he said in response then untapped his comm badge. “And it seems ours are ready to go as well shall we...”
The Commodore smiled for the first time since they had arrived in this system. “Okay, Launch all Tri-Cobalt armed fighters... have them take the lead. Keep a safe distance. Commander Bartly, please operate the fighters remotely.”

Rook took another deep breath. She hoped that this plan would work. “Yes sir.” She knew this was a long shot and banked on the Klingons ignoring the drones to deal with the Star Fleet cruisers and destroyers. She quickly hit keys on her console transferring the targeting data to all the other fighters and outed control of the remotes to her console.

As Rook worked on transferring full control of the drones to her console she heard Lt Commander Johnson yell into the comms. “All vessels launch Tri-Cobalt armed fighters.” As Johnson ordered the launch, Lt Commander Draconis’ voice came over the comm trying to get Enor’s attention.
